A Very Fort Worth Christmas

Is there anything more spectacular than the holiday season? Leaves are changing, Christmas is near, and the anticipation of presents fills the air. This is the perfect time of year to get the family together in celebration of the holiday spirit. Whether you’re looking for Christmas lights or an activity, we’ve got the top three events this winter that are sure to fulfill all of your Christmas dreams.

Lightscape
Lightscape is returning to the Botanical Gardens this year for the second time. More than 80% of their light displays are completely new this year, so you won’t want to miss this magical event. From now until January 1st, you can take an unforgettable, 1.2-mile walk through the illuminated gardens. You’re sure to have a blast with the entire family, as this year’s Lightscape also features a Christmas Village complete with a fire pit, s’mores, and yummy hot chocolate. The Village is also an opportunity for your kiddos to meet Santa! Strollers and wagons are welcome. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance so that you don’t miss out on this spectacular winter wonderland.

ICE! Featuring The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
Located at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, ICE! showcases millions of twinkling lights, winter activities for the whole family, and of course, the famous ice exhibit with roughly 2 million pounds of colorful sculptures. This year’s ice sculptures will depict scenes from the classic holiday movie, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. ICE! is a holiday favorite if for all Christmas lovers (and Grinches) in the DFW metroplex.

The Christmas Capital of Texas
ICE! at the Gaylord isn’t the only thing that draws people to Grapevine. Known as the Christmas Capital of Texas, Grapevine delivers a whopping 1,400 different events in 40 days! Take the TexRail from downtown Fort Worth to enjoy historic downtown Grapevine, bristling with Christmas lights, local boutiques, holiday music, and the town’s famous wine trail. Did I mention that there’s an ice skating rink? No matter what helps you get into the holiday spirit, The Christmas Capital of Texas will surely has it in droves. Don’t miss out on the 44th annual Parade of Lights this Thursday, December 7th, or the Merry and Bright Christmas drone show on Saturday, December 9th.

If you’re struggling with finding holiday activities to do this Christmas season, DFW has plenty of fun excursions for every age. Just make sure you bundle up!
